Description

The Steak Bomb Sandwich is a hearty and flavorful dish packed with tender steak, melted cheese, and a medley of sautéed vegetables, all tucked into a soft roll. Perfect for a quick lunch or dinner, this sandwich is easy to make and customizable to suit your preferences.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb thinly sliced steak (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 46 slices provolone cheese
  • 46 soft rolls
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, mustard

Instructions

  1. Sauté the Vegetables: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms. Cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
  2. Cook the Steak: Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and add the steak to the other side. Cook until browned and cooked to your desired doneness, about 3-5 minutes per side.
  3. Season: Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix everything together.
  4. Assemble the Sandwich: Preheat the broiler. Place the rolls on a baking sheet and toast for 1-2 minutes. Remove from the oven and top each roll with a slice of provolone cheese. Return to the oven and broil until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Add the Toppings: Pile the steak and vegetable mixture onto the rolls. Add your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, and mustard.
  6. Serve: Cut the sandwiches in half and serve immediately. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use Thinly Sliced Steak: Thinly sliced steak cooks quickly and evenly. You can ask your butcher to slice it for you or do it yourself at home.
  • Adjust the Seasoning: Taste the steak and vegetable mixture as it cooks and adjust the seasoning as needed. You might want to add more salt, pepper, or other spices to suit your taste.
  • Toast the Rolls: Toasting the rolls adds a nice crunch and helps keep the sandwich from getting soggy.
  • Customize the Toppings: Feel free to add your favorite toppings like avocado, pickles, or hot sauce.
