Description

This Ham and Cheese Croissant Bake combines the rich flavors of buttery croissants, savory ham, melted cheese, and a creamy mustard sauce. It’s a perfect blend of textures and tastes that will leave your taste buds dancing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 46 large croissants
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (such as Gruyere, Swiss, or cheddar)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Optional toppings: sliced green onions, fresh herbs, or a drizzle of honey mustard glaze

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Croissants: Cut the croissants in half lengthwise and place the bottom halves in a baking dish.
  2. Layer the Ingredients: Sprinkle the diced ham and shredded cheese evenly over the croissant halves.
  3. Make the Egg Mixture: In a bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  4. Assemble the Bake: Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissant halves, ensuring everything is well coated.
  5. Bake: Cover the dish with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes. Then, uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the top is golden brown.
  6. Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve warm with your choice of optional toppings.

Notes

  • Make Ahead: You can prep the ingredients and assemble the bake ahead of time. Just store it in the refrigerator and bake when ready to serve.
  • Reheat: Reheat leftovers in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes, or until warmed through.
  • Freeze: Freeze the baked and cooled croissant bake in an airtight container for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
