For the Chicken Patties:
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt

- 1 tbsp olive oil
For the Fajita Topping:
- 1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp fajita seasoning (or a mix of chili powder, cumin, and paprika)
- Salt and pepper to taste
For Serving:
- 4 burger buns
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomatoes
- Avocado slices (optional)
- Sour cream (optional)
- Salsa (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken Patties: In a bowl, combine the ground chicken, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly distributed. Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
- Cook the Patties: Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken patties and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and no longer pink in the middle.
- Prepare the Fajita Topping: While the patties are cooking, heat another 1 tbsp of olive oil in a separate skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced bell pepper and onion. Cook until the vegetables are softened and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Season with fajita seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Assemble the Burgers: Toast the burger buns if desired. Place a chicken patty on each bun, top with the fajita topping, lettuce, tomato, avocado slices, sour cream, and salsa (if using). Serve immediately.
