Description
Air Fryer Roast Potatoes are a delightful and healthier alternative to traditional roast potatoes. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, these potatoes are perfect for a quick and easy side dish. With minimal oil and effort, you can enjoy perfectly roasted potatoes that complement any main course.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet work best)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1 tsp paprika (optional)
- 1 tbsp fresh rosemary or thyme, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Potatoes: Scrub the potatoes clean and cut them into bite-sized pieces. There’s no need to peel them unless you prefer to.
- Season the Potatoes: In a bowl, toss the potato pieces with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and fresh herbs (if using). Make sure each piece is well coated.
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Air Fry the Potatoes: Arrange the potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer. Air fry for 20-25 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Transfer the potatoes to a serving dish and enjoy immediately!
Notes
- Cut Evenly: Make sure to cut the potatoes into evenly sized pieces so they cook uniformly.
- Don’t Overcrowd: Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. The potatoes need space for the hot air to circulate and crisp them up.
- Shake the Basket: Shake the basket halfway through cooking to ensure even browning.
- Check for Doneness: The potatoes are done when they’re golden brown and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. You can test this by piercing a piece with a fork.
